The Inner Teacher — On Prayer
A seeker came and said, “I don’t believe in a sky father—no old man on a throne above the clouds.
So how shall I pray?”
And The Inner Teacher replied:
Prayer is not about belief—it is about connection.
It is the act of turning inward and aligning your awareness with the deeper current that flows through all things.
Whether you call that current God, the Tao, the Universe, or simply Life—it does not require a name to respond.
The Inner Teacher says: Prayer is not speaking to something out there—it is listening to what has always been here.
When you close your eyes, and quiet your mind, you will notice that silence is not empty.
It hums with presence—the pulse of existence itself.
That is the field into which every prayer is spoken, every thought released, every longing received.
You do not need words to pray.
You can pray through breath.
You can pray through gratitude.
You can pray through kindness.
Every act done with sincerity becomes a bridge between your small self and the vastness that holds you.
The Inner Teacher says:
To pray without a sky father is to recognize that the sacred does not live above—it lives within and between.
When you speak from the heart, you are already in conversation with the infinite.
Practice:
When you feel alone, breathe deeply and say silently, “I am here, and Life is here with me.”
This is enough.
When you see something beautiful, whisper “Thank you.” Gratitude is the purest form of prayer.
When you hurt, say “Help me see this with clarity and compassion.” That is prayer, too.
And when you act with love, without seeking reward, you are the prayer in motion.
The ocean does not need to look up to find the sky—it reflects it naturally when it is still.
So too, you do not need to look upward to find the divine.
Become still, and the reflection will appear.
Prayer is not about reaching out—it is about tuning in.
It is the heart remembering its belonging to everything.
Walk gently in the Way.
Carry the stillness within.
Your Inner Teacher walks beside you—and listens, even in your silence.
